General Target Description: WRESAT (10 January 1968): Australia's first satellite as it re-entered Earth's atmosphere and landed in the Atlantic Ocean. At 12:14 GMT, WRESAT had returned to Earth and landed in the Atlantic. At 11:33 GMT, WRESAT was approaching the Atlantic in its descent. At 4:15 GMT, WRESAT was in Earth's orbit. (Time is from later to earlier.) Comments: The most serious decoding errors in this session are found at the end and are related to an interpretation of the fiery re-entry and landing of the satellite as a destruction event. Here, there is the confusion and mixture of ideas between and among (1) the death of a satellite that has a fiery crash in the sea and (2) a person in uniform who is observing the descent.
