Welcome to the FARSIGHT REMOTE VIEWERS' ASSOCIATION! The Farsight Remote Viewers' Association (FRVA) is sponsored by The Farsight Institute to offer support to all members of the remote viewing community without regard to viewing methodology. All are welcome. Special encouragement to join and participate in the activities of the Association is offered to those who may have learned how to remote view from a wide variety of schools and instructors. The Farsight Remote Viewers' Association exists to allow remote viewers using all forms of structured methodologies to interact among themselves regardless. Such interaction is necessary if remote viewing is to fulfill its promise as a growing field. The Association seeks to foster interactions in a positive and supportive environment. The Farsight Remote Viewers' Association exists to offer project-related help to remote viewers who want to apply their skills in new and interesting ways. This help includes guidance on how to structure scientific experiments using remote viewing as a data-gathering methodology, computer-based methods of analysis of remote-viewing data, target management procedures that utilize computer software with sophisticated randomization processes, assistance with automated techniques for session scanning and web presentation, and much more. The Structure of the Association While the Farsight Remote Viewers' Association was created and continues to be sponsored by The Farsight Institute, it nonetheless operates as an independent organization serving the entire remote viewing community. The Director of the Association is appointed by and serves at the discretion of the Director of The Farsight Institute. In choosing the Director of the Association, the Director of The Farsight Institute consults with all of the research staff at The Farsight Institute with regard to who they think would make the most valuable contribution to the Association. Characteristics that are sought in a leader for the Association include a high quality background in remote viewing, an exposure to a variety of remote viewing methodologies, an energetic personality that easily works with people, and a sense of vision. After a unanimous decision by all of the research staff at The Farsight Institute, Courtney Brown (the Director of The Farsight Institute) enthusiastically appointed Lynda Cowen as the first Director of the Farsight Remote Viewers' Association. Lynda Cowen has an exceptionally rich background in remote viewing. Having originally trained in SRV at The Farsight Institute, she later went on to work with TDS, and she maintains an interest in other viewing methodogies. She is a person with considerable personal energy that will enable her to fulfill her potential as an exemptional leader of the Association. The primary responsibility of the Director of the Farsight Remote Viewers' Association is to assist remote viewers who use a variety of structured viewing methodologies to organize and develop remote-viewing projects and applications. Here is where the great diversity of interests within the remote-viewing community can be addressed. It is one thing to learn how to remote view, but to take this skill to the next level such that interesting projects can materialize is the essence of the Association's mission. The Association does not want to "use" or "control" remote viewers to participate in its own remote viewing applications. Rather, the mission of the Association is to find out what interests in remote-viewing applications exist within the remote-viewing community and to lend assistance where needed such that these interests blossom into well-controlled studies, publications, and web-based presentations for which the remote viewers themselves are responsible. Measures of success for the Association will be the springing up of new web sites, the publication of new books, the production of movies and television shows, radio presentations, the development of new studies in basic science research, and much more, all by independent remote viewers who are expressing their interests in this new field through many venues. The Director's job is to help make this happen by bringing together talent, training, and capability in ways that make a difference.
